Nope not successful this year. It was a long shot but definately rehearsed for future draw applications. Thanks to the forum and those polite enough to help a NM newbie hunter. Going to try getting a landowner tag for cow. -

yeah probably not the best comparison seeing how bbq is better than sushi! was just pointing out that the draw hunts are open to anyone (no preference to resident vs NR) and everyone has an equal chance. -

Well its finally done. Put in for the NM elk draw for the first time. Now it's just a matter of wait and see. Not really expecting favorable results but keeping fingers crossed. No chance taken is a chance missed. Good luck to all ya'll other hunters in the draw. -

Ive never put in for a draw except here in TX for draw hunts. Here you can put in for a draw hunt with up to 4 people and the other three can put in apps with the same people and if one gets drawn all 4 do. So I was just curious. Ill go back and read that section and dissect it a little more. -

Got it. So basically, we need to decide exactly what are preferences are 1,2,3 submit and pray to the draw gods for something. I read they look at all 3 choices before moving on? 3rd ones a charm or 3 strikes and out?Lol -

Ok that answers that. Next question, If I put in and application for 3 choices and my hunt buddy attaches to that application, can he put in an application with other choices and I attach to his application will it deny the application as being a duplicate. -
