CoMTNMan I am in a similar situation with a Muzzleloader elk permit in my pocket. I have done a lot of aerial image and map scouting. I have also been given a few tips from this forum and some friends that have been to the area. I doubt I will be much help but would be happy to compare notes...
Cabalas carries a neoprene cover I think it called Snug Fit. Mine works great and I like that my scope is now black with cabalas written on it. I think it looks like a cheap scope when I leave it in the truck and doesn't invite someone to break my window and steal it.
For a base camp at the truck you will want to bring more than just what you want to drink. Depending on what you cook you will want 2 gallons a day for drinking as outlined by Wannabull above but also water for dishes, cooking (boiling noodles takes a lot) washing hands etc. keeping your water...

^^^^^^^ This. I agree with everything Bivy said.

I have the cot formally known as luxury lite before thermarest bought it 2.2 lbs. It is amazing and take it even backpacking. Using it by itself without a pad is really cold. I use a very light foam pad with it.
I had a pair that I used intermittently while bow hunting to hear bugles. they were ok when the wind wasn't blowing. I looked into it and my health insurance covered hearing aids up to $3,000. My hearing was bad enough that the audiologist felt comfortable prescribing actual hearing aids...
This could be abused very easily if passed. Just purchase the cheap bonus points for all your friends/family/coworkers that don't apply and then enter the draw with the highest point holder as a party. A bit of planning and paying for a few cheap bonus points and you can always be in the draw...
