Yes I do. Sure they might take a second shot sometimes to put them down quickly but not once have I thought to myself I'm going to use a smaller caliber with less recoil so I can get that second shot off faster. Use what you're comfortable with inside the distance you are accurate with and put... -

I would never shoot at an animal with the thinking damn I hope he stays around so I can shoot him twice because I know one shot isn't going to do it. Put the right bullet in the right place and be done with it the first time. -

One more thing I would like to add is the loss of genetics. For example if a rancher had an aggressive artificial insemination program in the herd some of those females could be worth a lot more or even impossible to replace depending on the sire.- Dakota79

Pretty new to this smoking food but going to try a large venison roast on Saturday. Can you with more knowledge tell me how long per pound I can expect it to take smoking a large roast. Two things popped into my mind on those dates. Check out the does. There is a likely chance there will still be some rut activity going on.I would plant myself right between the corn and the cedar Bluffs to catch them going back and forth especially if it is nice and cold. -

To me it would make a big difference if it was a large buck or bull. In that case not so much my thing but a doe or cow no problem at all.
