Zinke announces interest in Montana's 2nd House Seat

I think Brian Schweitzer would have a fighting chance, though I am sure he would have no interest in it.

Other than that, Democrats are doomed in this state. Doesn’t matter how qualified or reasonable they may be as individuals, they have voluntarily opted to become members of a poisoned well. I do think if someone could raise the capital and momentum and run as an independent it could be interesting. Maybe a Bull Moose Party resurgence? Our current governor showed you can certainly buy your way to the top.

Republicans sweeping this state doesn’t say as much about people liking Republicans as it does folks’ collective disdain for Democrats.

I lost respect for Bullock when he stepped beyond MT politics and slurped Dems D.C. kool-aid.

I would support Brian Schweitzer though as Bret relayed... I think he's had his fill.

Of Republicans, Tim Fox would be a quality step of the steps available.

Zinke is too dirty. Padding his expense accounts goes way back to his military days. As I read it, criminal investigation is still pending re the Connecticut casino payoff. And there's his business ventures. The Montana land development deal in Whitefish for starters. Any local boy in the business of wrecking the state for alien billionaires doesn't get any respect from me. I don't know how he looks himself in the mirror. And has the balls to claim he's looking after the common man outdoors enthusiast. Then there's his pipeline company that was (and still is) a scam promoting revolutionary technology proven to be fictitious.

Check out Zinke's Wikipedia page. More smelly laundry than his favourite team LV Knights' locker room. A crook.

I haven’t dug into him in a couple years, but Wikipedia isn’t exactly a credible source. Especially for politicians.

Ryan Zinke's self-aggrandization as a "ladder climber" and self promoter was blatantly expressed when he stepped up as a freshman Congressman and said, "Pick me for Vice Presidential candidate!" But, as we witnessed the Republican power in our legislature unethically and unashamedly perpetrate the backdoor shenanigans this past session ... his sense of integrity and standards would fit right in with the current Republican playbook. I predict we will hear more about a longstanding history as a hunter and outdoorsman as we watch more unabashed devastation of wildlife management and the rich Montana hunting legacy.

I agree that Tim Fox would be a great candidate. Immediate name recognition, and, from what I could tell, a pretty straight shooter.

I think the Dems are going to find that calling people racists as the primary plank of their platform will not portend well for them.

I think Brian Schweitzer just sold his house on Georgetown. I’m not even sure if he’s still in Montana? He’s a great guy and is a great symbol of what the D party could be if they weren’t whatever they are instead.

Tim Fox would be the ideal leader in my mind.

I think Bullock would be better than Zinke but I kind of tired of Bullocks crap toward the end.

Ryan busse, formerly of BHA, is going to run for something. He’s a partisan hack but he is definitely on the correct side of most issues that we discuss on this page regarding wildlife management and hunting.

Assuming the above don’t run, idk who to pick.

I’ve heard that he’s a Navy SEAL. Can you confirm? 😉

He's still around, just relocated.
