That's from lots of years here in a row with bad ice. Even this year wasn't great. The sturgeon are doing extremely well right now!

Wisconsin: where it’s completely normal for funerals, athletic events and church festivals to have a keg/beer tent. (Maybe that’s everywhere, who knows).

I’m sure you saw the same picture, the one that young woman speared was an absolute pig. I heard it’s the fourth largest ever speared in WI, not sure if that’s true or not.

Lots of the local bars up by us have “sturgeon pools” and a sturgeon pole out front. Kind of fun to check them out.

In fairness sort of think the sturgeon spearing is cool.

I do feel like a poser Wisco though, as I have not actually speared a sturgeon. I’ve done it, just not real serious about it. I have a decent amount of upriver points, so maybe I’ll get my chance.
