I think it's a Legal one I heard the number 63... followed by a 53.. So I'm not sure. Either way, if anyones hutned Moose in Alaska a Legal 50" moose is a DAM DAM nice Moose !! Anything over just assures you it's legal

No, we actually made a home made phone with a String in between. They yell at it on one side and I listen in the other side. That's part of the reason why I couldn't hear the full conversation all that well.

November better be Tripple Condom month. When the baby is due in a few weeks I'll be on a 5-6 week Hiatus, It will take that many to dam up the flow.............

I thought it was either a satellite phone or they took the meat into town and called like you mentioned earlier or you talked to the guy who set it up in town like you mentioned earlier who picked up the meat. Yes, they had a Sat. phone. They are high enough in the Artic that the phones skip from Satalite to Satalite so the average phone call is about 45 seconds. As the updates come in, if any more do, I'll relay them !!! Not sure how the Meat is I didn't have time to ask. Hopefully it's not the scortching 54 Deg and the tempatures have dropped.

Wow, the satellite phone calls skip around, you know the average. That's impressive! Did the same guy fly the 14 for 7 group as flew this group? If so, wow, who's that? It sounds awesome there lately for sure.

The average is based on trial and Error, One of the guys on the trip runs a Highly lucrative company and needs daily interaction. There is many a trial and Errors on the phone side. It was told to them before they left about the lack of time with the satalites low on the horizon and has been confirmed, I talked to the guys Seretary that talks to him in short conversations

No, the 14 for 7 was a Diffferent outfit. This outfit is a Buddy of mine that sets up Drop camp type hunts. Same general location though.

Yes, probably either more picky or less picky......... I also think once they're done filling the tags they will be done hunting, but I'm not sure ?!?!

I bet they're eating moose steaks and caribou steaks, its a nice thought. Except for wolves and grizzlies, they like that meat too. They sell a little portable electric fence to put around the tent now. Here it is, what do you think?

Soooo, if they were to camp inside the perimeter of that fence would that be considered a high fence hunt for the wolves and grizz??

Its a 3 black bear tag area and they have a big pile of meat around their camp somewhere.

MarvB, One downside to Hunttalk is sometimes you need to clean your Computer after spitting pop all over it

Just an FYI.. there are NO black bear up there. Only brown ones. I think there is a Brown bear tag or two in camp as well, I hope they have a Problem Brown bear.....

I don't why they sell 3 bear tags if the brown bear eat all the black bear there? That's what happens in the southwest AK units, they say,the brown bear eat the black bear, at least they kill them. Ask Buzz what happened to his camp early in a hunt, sleeping bags torn up, food wiped out, this fence deal may prevent that kind of thing sometimes, I don't know. Its a lot of money for a rare event, maybe, but its a one time expenditure. Who's an electrical type? It looks like its just batteries and wire to make 6000 volts out of 2 D batteries, how do you do that?
