Sounds like he is trying to build the same problem wagonhound has.I'm not going to sit back and lose almost all access to the freezeouts.
The guy was the worst. He guessed and had no real answers to provide he stuttered to much and didn't really listen to the Public that has lived here and have ranches at all. It was all about what he wanted. If they cant keep their cattle in their fences and not in the towns Specially Hanna and Bow then NO ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA. He has no answer for my Question of if YOUR BOSS is so rich then why cant you build proper fences to keep your cattle out of Hanna before someone gets hurt. He laughed which is what I wanted to see. I said do you think your Boss has enough money to buy a child that died to their negligence??? Oh then his face went blank and he went silent. NO ANSWER but he suddenly was not smiling. With a closer look, I think you are right. They are taking the mountains. A color key on the map would be useful.
Stand that line with us like the people did when we were children. Take that stand to protect Carbon County as if it were your children.I just want thank everyone for sharing this information. Please let us know what we can do to oppose this land grab.
@WapitiBob - if you've been all over that unit - - - have you every come across "those guys" in the patrolling white trucks?I've been all over that unit as has Buzz. They want to trade the Hanna hma stuff for the east side country that has had an increasing Elk presence over the last several years. Hanna was pretty good till they ran the powerline thru it.
Buzz is on his way home from the meeting and should update. I believe this is a Q meeting and an attempt to garner some support before going back to the BLM.
before and after
I say we stand our ground and wash Q Creek out.So, at the conclusion of the meeting/discussion, everyone walked out of the room and......? (What are the next steps on this land-grab-exchange?)
Compromise????? We have to deal with their cattle coming into Hanna every year taking a chance with our children's lives. If they want to help the communities they should worry about proper fencing to keep their cattle out of our communities specially when most the small children in the town of Hanna and anywhere else the city people are coming from can be startled and startle the cattle creating a stampede. A child is bound to get hurt or even maybe and adult. Then what do they think their money is going to get them. They have no remorse for what they are tending to create. They dont care about the impact it has on us citizens of this county they only care about their money. Like he said in the meeting his boss has money. Well for some of that money dont help and we dont care. What we care about is keeping our children safe and our families fed. There is not compromise. And they are not looking to compromise they are just running their mouths. That PR guy guessed to much wouldn't answer questions that were important to the community and he rolled his eyes at every Rancher and hunter there when they spoke up and showed him he was not very smart. My 11 Year old niece would have been a better PR than this guy was.Maybe worth a compromise rather than completely robbing the best areas that the public currently can legally access for desert acreage.
How about the total opposite. Filling in some of the public areas with additional blm that currently exist in the Freezeouts and other prime habitat in exchange for filling in some of their private property in the desert?
Now that would likely spark a lot more interest in such a deal by the public!
