Let’s see some WY Whitetail Pictures! Me and my buddy should be going on our first whitetail hunt in the fall. Would love too see some successful hunt pictures!

I really never have spent anything close to significant time hunting whitetails in Wyoming. Honestly, most I've shot were on my way to hunt deer in Montana.

Shot these two on my way to hunt in the breaks for elk in Montana. Had a type 3 and a general tag. Shot the first one, another jumped out of the brush, so shot it too.

Shot this one while on my way to Montana. Had to scramble to find an orange vest, only thing available was an orange vest I bought from 5 year old nephew. Timed it so I would be around this place at daylight. Saw a doe and was going to just fill my tag with it and by the time I got my chit together, this buck had joined the doe:

I think if I actually spent more than day or two hunting them, probably some nicer bucks to be had. Its just a time issue and whitetail always seem to fall last on the list in Wyoming for me.

First whitetail I shot in WY. If you look close you’ll still see spots on him.

Coming from SE Wisconsin, the “if it’s brown, it’s down philosophy” kind of failed me.

I have been hunting the same general area for about 25 years now. We go every few years. There are 6 or 7 racks in my garage like the 2021 pictures I posted above. As a teacher time off during hunting season is tough. Every hunt I’ve made for Wyoming deer has been a 3-4 day hunt. There is potential for some really nice bucks there, spending a bit more time would turn something nicer up.

If you ever decide to head to Oklahoma let me know I'd be willing to help check that bucket list box. Half the states west of I-35 with OTC tags and plenty of deer.


Only whitetail I've ever killed in Wyoming on a type 6 tag. Seen some really good bucks in the Dayton- Ranchester area.

Same here. As much as I'd like a nice mulie with the current state of things out there maybe a whitey would be a better choice. Got a friend whos convinced its mule deer or no deer and that he wouldn't go out of state to hunt whitetails when we literally hunt them in our back yard. I tell him its about the places and setting you hunt em in not just the species. He's a buzz kill party pooper.

Where at in OK? Might head down there next spring for y’all’s turkey and fishing tag…

A 140" WT is a really nice WT in WY. I have seen a few bigger on private hay fields, but they are few.
