Wyoming Elk Unit 33 - cow tag help!

I hunted it hard last year late season and never cut an elk track on accessible public. Lots of hunting pressure. The game warden said it was one of those "should have been here last week" situations.

How late in the season were you hunting? Were you seeing many elk on the private near the elevation you were able to hunt?

December and no, the way the land lays you can't easily glass most of the private from the public.
