wyoming elk type 1 in the big horns

I drew a type 1 tag in the big horns this year and it looks like the season is opening earlier. October 10 is the opening day so it should be nice not competing with deer hunters for the first week. Do you all think I will be seeing rut activity still and if so will it most likely be younger bulls?

Congratulations on the tag. Second rut is usually a week after the first rut date. You might hear bugling bulls based on the density if that is what you are asking. Welcome to HT. Some of the craziest bugling I’ve ever heard was somewhere around October 24 during a spike only rifle hunt. Bugles all day long from the time I left the pickup until we got back.
