I'm never in favor of legislators managing game but the second bill by Larry Hicks makes sense to me.

“We’re just saying [to the federal government], ‘You go manage the bears,’” Hicks told WyoFile. “We’re tired of spending all of the money doing it for you.”

I'm sure it's some political posturing but as a non resident hunter in Wyoming I accept the bumps in fees and tags (I got out of the point scheme a long time ago) but I hate to see my money go to grizzly issues. The fed and bear huggers should pay for their management as long as they are listed.

I'm a little confused on why they need legislation to stop spending money on this? I think the states have generally proved that they manage bears (see previous USFWS attempt to take them off). Two things standing in the way - paying the legal bills and legislators with their stupid ideas.
