I believe last year it took 5 points in the regular pool to draw the West gen tag..what’s everyone think it’ll take this year?? 5.5 or 6 points or does it plateau out??

As long as the demand significantly exceeds the availability and everyone continues to buy points every year, the point levels to draw will continue to creep. A good example of the demand slowing is i Wyoming deer for region G with all the winter kill, so that's slowing a bit.

I predict a continued increase of a point every year at least.

You think so? I would be surprised if West and South didn’t creep .5-1 full point in the regular draw.
It could but I think that is the cause of the creep for now. It won’t be long and it’ll be a creep from guys that aren’t drawing from that

Depends on the number of licenses they allot. Maybe Buzz will chime in or JM77, didn't WG&F change the NR allotment?

I just drew southern general last year and I’m really debating if it’s worth it to start buying points again. I’ll definitely be putting in for it hoping to pull a random tag and almost feel like I have a better chance of hitting it before building the points back up to draw it.

Still some real nice type 4 tags to be had for a point no more then 2. Not a bull but still elk hunting. After burning my 6 points a few years ago this became my plan hunt cows every couple years and apply in the general in between in hopes of striking the random.

Even last year with the increase in price of the Special, I don't think the Regular jumped a full point, it was close though. I suspect the increase goes back to closer to 0.5-0.7point. So with 5 points, you might have a 50/50 chance in Regular. I need to find my spreadsheet to work through it and given I used all my points last year, I care a lot less this year. LOL

They removed the 7250 cap and added some tags last year. New quotas will be out the 3rd week of March, finalized at the April meeting.

Regular Price draw E and W were 100% at 5, S was 100% at 5.2000.

My family and I will have an average of 5.5 points for this draw..who knows. When I started buying points it was a 1 point tag lol..of course that’s the trend in all of the states I buy pref points for..

I'm expecting the General W Special tag to drop in 2025, I'd bet it will take about 3-4 points. $2,000 is a crazy amount of money for many people to spend on a general tag. I think many other people are right and the Regular tag will probably creep about .5-.7 a year.

The 7250 cap is what I was thinking about.
