WSU completed the regular season and now captures the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Some commentators (Doug Gottlieb) continue to doubt. Personally I would love to watch him eat some big time crow but I am slightly concerned that the strength of schedule argument that he espouses has a nugget of truth.

Bob Knight stopped by Wichita last week to watch a practice and then the final home game. He told the boys that he watches a lot of basketball because it's his job, but he really enjoys watching the nations second ranked team because "they play basketball just about as well as it can be played".

Presuming a #1 seed on selection Sunday, it seems, reasonable that WSU will play their first games right back in St Louis, the site of the Valley tournament.

Would have been an interesting year if Creighton was still in their conference as those were good games usually. I would say they haven't had the hardest schedule compared to some of the teams in other conferences but definitely deserve to be ranked in the top 5.

A SI article link here: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/co...wichita-state-undefeated-season-arch-madness/

The article mentions the championship game and specifically opponent Jake Odum. As he was being subbed out for the last time so that the ISU crowd could applaud his four years of stellar play, (has broken several Hick From Frenchlick aka Larry Bird records) WSU guards Rom Baker and Takele Cotton urged the WSU faithful to rise and give honor to Odum. Class act boys on and off the court.

Shockers are "Given" a #1 seed and a play-in 16 seed patsie, just to have the privilege of playing either a Sunflower showdown team (KState ) or University of Kentucky. I'm saying it here first......a "Wildcat" victory for the 8/9 game, as both are nicknamed wildcats and then shockers eek into the sweet sixteen.

Shockers will have a tough road to the final four with their bracket they are playing in.
