Wow.....I drew the OIL North Dakota Elk Tag.

My fun year continues with some more good luck
I followed along with your elk hunt all season, but somehow did not notice or read or see pictures of the whitetail. That is a hoss. The bladed headgear is very impressive. Unique for sure!

Yep completely out of nowhere. Patience paid off on him, I passed several P&Y quality bucks waiting for them to return to a drainage. Had no idea he was there when I set up, but glad I held out.
 
Got my MT Whitetail mount back.

Turned out phenomenal, should get my bull back in a few months.

That symmetrically bladed WT is something else. Great bull also, good taxi work both.

Did you post a thread on the buck?
I didn’t, the story itself leading up to the buck wasn’t anything wild. I setup on a drainage a group of deer was bedded in and ambushed them on the way back in the morning. Never saw this deer beforehand so I was quite surprised after taking him!
