I walked about ten miles last night, in the rain and fog, with a backpack, and a 1/4 flask of Pendleton that I didn't even drink. All I saw was a white-tailed doe, odd though, since it was at around 8000 ft elevation in the middle of the Lee Metcalf wilderness. And that's the damn truth..

The pendleton was to be used in celebration over a big dead furry creature, of which we saw none... just the out of place doe. I did eat some candy though & found that dehydrated strawberries are delicious... if that adds any to my adventurous tale..

Couldn't tell.. It was about 70 yards away in a thick fog. I might have had a fawn laying around somewhere, or it could have been the fur I saw in big pile of bear dung a half-hour later. Maybe that bear ate the entire litter.

Well, on the plus side...with all the twins the elk are having this year...elk recruitment should be much better down your way this year.

A few more recruitment years like this and maybe you'll be getting 2 bull tags in Montana before you know it.

Sounds a lot like my hunt Monday, right down to the lone whitetail doe. Last night I decided to stay in, drink beer with friends, and watch a movie. Seems like I made the right choice, 2+ hour walks to check out a fog bank get old.

what's wrong with pbr....they couldn't put a blue ribbon on a bad beer, could they?

they can, they did. PBR was great when it was the "cheap" beer for students. but now it not cheap anymore and there is a lot of better beer for the same price
