One day I was finishing a kayak trip and the take out was at a roadside park. There was a group of men at a picnic bench. I saw one guy leaving his car with a vanity plate of “ARMENIA” to join the others. I asked him the obvious question “Are you Armenian?” Then told him I liked listening to an Armenian artist. “Oh yeah? Who?” “Arto Tuncboyicyan (pronounced perfectly, I am sure). His face lit up. “Brother! You have got to come have drinks with us!” Which I found out meant many, many shots of vodka.
