Just reminding all Wisconsin sportsman that the spring conservation congress hearings are coming up on Monday. This is a time where you can make your voice and concerns heard. Hopefully a lot of folks show up, last year the attendance stunk.
Below are just a few of the advisory questions that will be voted on that I think are really important. These are not official rule changes, but if they are passed in the spring hearings, it is likely you may see them come up in the future:
Do you support legislation to return the appointment of the DNR secretary to the NRB?
Do you favor eliminating the "artificial-only" restriction from the regular season trout regulations?
Do you favor legislation that would require at least two of the three senior DNR managers (Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Assistant Deputy Secretary) to have either an educational degree in natural resource management and five years of applied natural resource management or ten years of applied natural resource management before they are appointed?
Do you support the legislature increasing hunting, fishing, and trapping license fees?
You can view all of the questions and locations of the spring hearings here: http://dnr.wi.gov/about/wcc/springhearing.html
