Win for the greatest run of Salmon in the world.

When are they gonna start removing all the dams in Washington to help the salmon runs there? I know they have taken down a couple but am curious.

Sorry I am not meaning to hijack.

I think the main stem ones are here to stay, they just provide too much public power benefit to be removed, but the ones on the Snake are pretty pointless. Overall it's still being hashed out in the courts, and may take another decade to sort out. There's strong support for the Snake River dams by E Wa legislators, but to answer your question I think the answer is likely "someday". But not now.

WA has removed several larger dams (Elwha and White Salmon/Condit) and is poised to have to remove a lot of culverts that act as fish passage barriers, depending on how the Supreme Court rules later this year http://www.atg.wa.gov/news/news-rel...e-seeks-us-supreme-court-review-culverts-case
