Wilderness Area montage

Sanders lake, rattlesnake wilderness
Shhhhhh!

Kidding. Sanders is great! A few summers back I was making my breakfast there one morning and watched a little black bear pop out of the woods and have his morning stretch. As soon as the sun warmed things he hopped into the water and started swimming pleasure laps. Pretty happy forest memory for me.

I love it back in there, so much space where there is hardly even a walking trail

Souris river canoe, weighs nothing and makes portaging easy, paddles beautifully for a light canoe without a keel.
This is a sweat equity type trip with fly-in fishing quality paid for with mosquito bites and sore backs from paddling all day to get in (and the up front investment in the gear to do these trips). Had beautiful weather and found hungry fish shallow. Walleye, Pike, Lakers, Bass.
