Why is Gunner banned?

I thought the Pig Pen was eliminated for a reason - that reason being that things went too far. I wasn't aware that the name had simply been changed!

If nothing is off limits, no one is twisting my arm to make me read this section. Why make any rules at all, then?

Moosie.. I wasn't pointing at anyone for being a troll or for being young.. I was just observing the changes that take place as any endeavor matures and people change. Responsibility is a tough taskmaster.. It changes people and places. Like this web site has changed as it's matured. I'm probably easier to offend than anyone on here, but I've gotten tough and I've survived..

You guys keep it personal and I will lock SI plain and simple. Granted we all have a good time busting someones chops here and there and I see nothing wrong once ina while, but now on every post you have a few people ( I will name names) ELKGUNNER , BUZZ, ITHACA, TEN BEARS, ElkCHASER . you guys do nothing but chase each other around like a bunch of lost sheep just to slam each other. I am betting you dont even read the posts.

You guys act all rough against each othe rbut as soon as one of your posts are deleted you cry like a bunch of little babies.

SO if you cant act nice it will be deleted, If you dont like it tell someone who cares.

If you want to post personal shit, then do it in a pm.
I like to read SI( well used to and I am sure alot of other people did as well) SOme of the stuff you guys post are really worth reading and it is informative. Now its like going to a gay bar and listening too a bunch of fags fighting over whos dress is prettier.( no I never been to one)

censor personal violence, private matters, family references, those seem good to me. Heck, threatening personal violence is a crime, I think.

Name calling is pretty childish, but some don't mind being childish. Sometimes its fun, but its pretty off topic usually and degrades the thread for those interested in the real topic.

When we read threads, every word appears just as every other word, so a change in tone or a giggle, isn't always there. Its harder to skip the part we are not interested in, without changes in the typing like that.

Communicating on a forum is limited, I'm kind of deciding that. We try to type, like we talk, it doesn't work like that, because people can't tell as easily when a person's tone of voice changes by reading what is typed. It just doesn't work the same, hence, the forum communication is limited.

People come in and out of conversations and that can be exciting and that can really mess up a conversation too. Its just a forum, its not like talking in person.

I would hate it if SI got locked up. I would also hate it if SI put up lacy curtains to sugar coat everybody's replies. Family references have always been taboo with me and always will. Just blatent name calling does not add to anything. Getting around it with references and wit make me laugh.

I use Ass Clown at work all the time and they love it there also.

However it has been done way too much lately with the name calling and what really is bad is that Moosie has not been called a name lately.

I want to bring issue since my name was drug into this...
I have never complained once about any of the posts I put up being deleted and have never e-mailed or PM'd any one to make them help stop with what ever attacks I have been receiving.

I personally think some of it goes way too far and lasts way to long, to the point of being a little silly, I really believe I have made that point "WELL" known and agree with how Cali has stated it.

This area has matured over the years to be, probably the best place of its kind to visit on the web.

If we get to invasive, then we become like some of the tyrants that are out there running other boards (that is why I came here in the first place), if we degrade into to much of a 'grade school playground' mentality, then we will lose very good people that can contribute much to the debates and conversations, and pig pen in that case fits.

There is going to be no way to make every one down here happy at the same time, which is just an impossible feat (unless the trucks that were promised years ago started to appear on doorsteps).

If we all think the same, then we fall into the trap others around cyberspace fall into and it will become boring.
I for one think a small amount of censorship is needed and the rest is open for what ever comes out of it (continual name calling and some profanity).

One thing we all need to remember or at least keep in mind, is that we are on a constant draw to bring children into the mix because they are the future of every thing we do and they can be present at any time because this is an open board.

I am in full agreement with what some of our overhead have stated, what goes on down here needs to stay here, regardless of what feelings of contempt we may harbor when visiting other parts of this board

Thats my two cents worth and I am climbing off of my soap box now...
