Why do you hunt?

I usually just say: I enjoy stalking and killing wild animals, and then eating them.

But Ernest Hemingway said it more eloquently. “Once you accept the rule of death, thou shalt not kill is an easily and naturally obeyed commandment. But when a man is still in rebellion against death he has pleasure in taking to himself one of the Godlike attributes, that of giving it. ”
 
Food. I could eat other food, but I prefer whitetail to cow, etc.
 
Tradition. Connects me to who I am and where I came from. It’s my only true escape from day to day life… the list goes on and on
 
I feel at peace when I hunt and I rarely shoot anything. It’s therapeutic to sit on the highest hill you can climb and look at stuff.
