Okay which of y'all have Merriam's turkeys?

I would love to go for a slam one year and would like to start palnning now. Hopefully I would like to go in spring 2003.

We have plenty in Idaho and I'll tell you where to find them if you come here, but they're real easy to find in the Black Hills of WY and South Dakota too.

We have them here in AZ but it is also a tough draw these days.
Keep my email handy if you are really going for the slam. I spend a lot of time in Mexico and have some ranches with great Goulds turkey hunting.

Merriams turkey were introduced here but they were not real successful. I have seen a few on my farm but there is an established group of them a few miles away that seems to do real well.

Yea, apparently the DNR origionally tried to establish merriams but they didnt take.....except for a small bunch near a town called Mazeppa.
