Yesterday was the last day of our rabbit season. What to do? I grab the 22, hop on the golf cart and make a round on my tree farm. As it got late, the rabbits hopped out of the briers to get some green grass.

Four head shots and four bunnies for the skillet. Hot biscuits and gravy. Mmmmmm.

Cottontails are good, never ate a jackrabbit. I have found gray squirrels to be tough. My dad's neighbor claims the brain is the best part of a squirrel. I will never know if that is true.

we have many different squirrels here. I like the grey and the jumbo "fox" squirrels. They look like a grey but bigger and orange in color. Squirrels are better eating than rabbit but are much harder to clean.
Rabbit are good too, unless they are the snowshoe hares, they taste like pine trees.
