I bought a Winchester 1886 SRC in 45-70, a few years back. I shot it some, but decided I would sell it as I wasn’t using it much. I looked on the internet to get an idea of what the value would be to sell it, when I found another SRC just like it only 1 serial number different.
After some investigation, I found them to be twins that had been sent to Hawaii to be used in the Civil Guard in the 1890’s. Both lettered identically and were unusually shipped back and forth from the Winchester factory.
What are the chances to reunite 2 consecutive guns such as this?
