What's up with Texans in the GYE?

Born and jerked up in Anderson Co.

Back in the mid to late 70's when Canada went full blown "socialized medicine" (i.e. Gov't health care), my home town picked up 4 VERY good MD's escaping the Canadian conversion.
My second job employer was a real estate agent and sold them all property.
An ophthalmologist, an OB-GYN and two MD's.

Smith County, I live out East of Tyler on a dead end road with very few neighbors, right now… I have a small lease in Anderson county that I’ve hunted since 1984, love that county since there aren’t as many people and the all seem friendly.

Yes sir. My oldest was born at Mother Francis. Worked in Tyler a little. Always loved those brick streets, unless it was raining! LOL!
Been around Lake Palestine a few times. Dogwood City, Gun Barrel City, Noonday, Frankston, LaRue and Poyner. Haven't been in that country in decades.
Last in Palestine in Feb, 2020.

Seems like the only population rising faster than G Bears is Texans. But seriously, in the last 12 months the number of Texans has gone nuts. I assumed it was just my slice of East Idaho as a schwanky country club community was gobbled up by some rich equity folks from TX who seem to be doing well on real estate in their circles. But drive through the parks, Jackson, Paradise Valley, Bozeman, Cody, Idaho Falls etc etc etc its nothing but Texas plates and accents. What gives? Are these new property owners or simply vacationers? It started prior to covid popping but I'm sure that's accelerated it. I'm passing no judgement, just observing the exponential growth of Texans and have yet to hear an explanation of it.

Look out for Ted Cruz! That asshat went a missin and TX thinks they need him.

I'm not Ken, but yeah, we'd be better off if they stayed....but they won't.
Gov. Abbott has already issued warrants to the Texas Rangers (not the MLB team) to arrest and return them to the Capitol building in Austin. ....and they don't need ALL of them. Just enough to make a quorum in the House so the body can vote on spending legislation.

This isn't the first time (d)'s have pulled this stunt.
They aren't hurting (R)'s, they're killing their constituents and the entire state of Texas.
Without a quorum, no legislation can be passed; good, bad or indifferent.

The first person that tried to kick me off public lands was a Texan transplant. I've noticed a hint of arrogance with them that the Cali people don't have. They also don't follow the public lands mantra coming from the peoples republic of Texas. Our good friendly neighbors, Dan and Farris Wilks are Texans. The Koch brothers from Kansas which is close cut from the same cloth. Hows that working out for us? I know that painting them all with the same brush is wrong, and I know some great ones on this site, but I'm not in love with Texans.

It doesn’t matter where you’re from, you’re somebody’s villain. When I lived back east, I was “one of those eastern guys who just want to come out here and exploit our resources”. Then I moved to UT and became “one of those crazy Mormons trying to privatize our public lands.” Then moved to WY and became “one of those selfish residents trying to steal tags from the NR’s”. It doesn’t matter where I live, somebody who has never met me is gonna hate me. I’m good with that.

Oh, and I was born in WVa, so I’m a total redneck with no teeth, and also lived in CA for a few years which makes me a flaming radical liberal socialist intent on destroying America. Wow, I just realized why so many people hate me. It has nothing to do with me. I feel so much better now.
