What would a brand new howa alpine be worth?

I happened to come across two brand new howa alpine rifles in what seems to be the most unlikely place - a small town hardware store nearly 1k miles from any mountain. One is in .243 and the other is .308. I’m thinking hard about the .308 but not sure it’s worth what they are asking. My guess is those rifles have been on the shelves for years now. This is Remington walnut and blued steel country.

What would you say they are worth?

Won mine on here in 2016, well actually I upgraded to the Alpine in 6.5 CM, thanks Randy. Sweet packing rifle, shoots good and kills big Wyoming bull elk.
Better buy it, get the .308.

I bought two Alpines awhile back. Love the concept. However, the barrels are too short, the stocks need to be bedded before they are shot and the plastic magazine will only work if you machine the stocks pillars lower. Cant say I would pick up another at this point
