What will you be shooting ?

Have you tried the 225 grain TSX in your whelen? I'm having decent luck with them and RL 15.

Yes. The 180s grouped better. But I should also say I cut 2" off and installed a muzzle brake. Had to buy a couple pounds RL-15, hard to come by round here.

Decisions, decisions. Right now I'm planning on using my 7mm magnum Remington Sendero with a 6-20 Leupold VX3 and Jewell trigger. I'm shooting a hand load using the 168 gr Berger Classic Hunter. Option #2 is my Ruger #1V in 25/06 with a VX3 4.5-14. I shoot a handloaded 110 gr Nosler Accubond out of it. Last hunt I agonized over which rig to take. After way over-thinking it, I ended up shooting a good buck at a whopping 60 yards!

I'll shoot my old trusty Mathews Switchback XT for deer in Iowa and for elk in Wyoming if I can get there early enough.

I'll try out my new Long Range Rifles by Len Bachus - 28 Nosler pushing the 195 gr Berger EOL outside of archery season though. She's doing great on the range and I can't wait to draw first blood with her!

I've been working up a load for my Ruger M77 and I think I've found the sweet spot.

Ruger M77 25-06Rem, 115gr Berger VLD Hunting, WLR primers, W-W Super brass (not impressed with them AT ALL!!!), and 52.5 grains of Reloader 22 seated 0.090" (I erroneously wrote 60 thou on there for some reason, so I tried to correct it) off the lands for an COAL of 2.6330". Target was at 100 yds. I didn't mess with adjustments because I'm going for grouping.

I'm leaving San Diego, CA on 27 September and driving to WY for Unit 1 antelope. Part of the fun of this trip was developing this load (not quite done yet, as I can still squeeze some more speed out I think).

Probably using my 22-250 for my doe tags not sure on my buck tag yet. The gunsmith was suppose to have my 308 built by now but I haven't seen it yet and was planning on using it. May take my grandpas 284 Winchester for my buck tag instead.

.257 Roberts custom, and the 22-250 as a backup. or possibly the 7RM as a back up, the wind does blow a helluva lot in eastern Mt ;)

I have 3 tags and I think I will take 4 guns.

.30-06 Winchester M70

For WY ‘lopes this fall - Winchester 1885 highwall .270 Win with gloss Leupold VX 3i scope, and a Weatherby Vanguard series 2 in HS Precision stock and Nikon ED Monarch 5 scope in 25-06Rem - both shooting TTSX handloads at approx. 3250fps (100 gr for .256 and 110 gr for .277).

It was going to be a Weatherby Weathermark in .257 with a Leupold VX5 HD 2-10x42. I bought the rifle on sale over the holidays and fortunately did not mount a scope or shoot it until the draw results were posted. But when my 12 year old, left-handed son drew a tag, I had to come up with a Plan B to avoid flying with multiple rifles. So, the Weatherby is now sold and a Tikka CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor is inbound. I'm going to drop it in a Brownells chassis with an AR-style stock and that should take care of the LOP and lefty issue. I'll pick up another Weatherby eventually...

FWIW - flying with this case (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017KO1IO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) makes traveling with 2 scoped rifles the same effort as traveling with 1.
