What sort of terrain features are best for finding sheds?

Where (in terms of features) do you find most of your sheds?

ie, along fencelines, in brushy areas, South facing slopes, etc...

Depends... muledeer, elk, whitetail, moose, caribou, antelope?

Fence lines are a waste of time IMO unless you're looking for 'lope sheds.

I found most elk sheds on south facing slopes, or in the north in the snow... bedding/feeding and anywhere in between.

Muledeer... I loved looking in rocky/cliffy/brush areas, south slope.

whitetail... haystacks, and along game trails mostly.

Yep, totally agree. Elk hold on to their antlers like money. They hold them so long they just seem to get spread out forever. There are obvious places, like the big wintering areas, but the "local" elk that don't make those huge migrations, make it tough for sure.

In Minnesota, I find most of my whitetail sheds in either the feeding areas or bedding areas. Some are on the trails between the two, but very few. South facing sides are more productive overall, but the food ultimately determines where they will be. If there are a lot of oak trees where you are at, look for places where they have been digging for acorns. I have also had a lot of success in standing corn fields.

Out here in Nevada, California, we seem to have the best success on south and south east facing slopes. As far as the elk and antelope not much done where I am at due to the long drives to where the elk are.

Keep in mind my conclusion is based on a sample size of three, but south facing slopes are where I found my elk sheds.

Me too. I've walked a thousand miles of fence lines. Maybe some day.

The first shed I ever found was along a fenceline; its also the only shed I've ever found along a fenceline.

Fence lines are the best, not sure what these guys are talking about. The deer will jump the fence and his antlers will fall off.

I've been finding mine at wolf kill sights. 5 sets so far this year in the highwoods. Went up with horses this past weekend and found the 5th set. Wolf track all over. Looks like the pack there has grown to about 10 strong now.
