Yeti GOBOX Collection

Waterfowl, let’s see them!

These pictures are a little different than normal for us. We hosted a few people from out of state ranging from Idaho to Florida. Even though these hunts weren't lights out the comradery and friendships made were way above anything we could have asked for. Florida boys wanted greenheads and the guy from Idaho wanted a cackler as he'd NEVER seen one. We delivered for both! Can't wait for next season!
(P.S we are not guides in case anyone is wondering)

Awesome, the Pacific NW is on my list. Really want to get a cackler, and a drake widgeon continues to elude me.

Limit is supposed to go from 1 to 3 next year, hope I can cash in on that a few times. There are sometimes 1000's of them at the "pintail spot", but getting shots is not guaranteed.
We got spots that are guaranteed for pintails but maybe not other ducks

Learned something new this year, the snow goose I shot last week had been eating what apparently are chufa nuts. His craw was full of these and they were all cracked in half. I also shot a mallard that had a couple of these in his gullet, but still whole. These nuts were/are cultivated in Europe and Africa. I had never heard of them before but the top of the plant does look familiar, it grows in wet marshy environments. Anyone seen these before? The last 2 pics are from internet.

A lot of people in the south plant them for waterfowl even tho it’s more popular for turkeys. Some people call them “duck potatoes”

Looks like yellow nutsedge to me, maybe same plant known by different names in different locales. I believe it's eaten by quite a few birds and animals, in agricultural areas it can become a big problem as it spreads quickly and can be very difficult to control.

Yeah, apparently the same plant.
