You waterfowl guys like me will appreciate this. By FAR the oldest band I’ve killed. 1800 miles pretty much straight north of me. Band was pretty worn with grooves on each side from sliding on the leg for 14 years.

Makes you wonder how many times that birds been shot at over the course of 14 migrations. I think my oldest one was 10 years.

Been in a funk this year at home, finally forced myself to get out and we got after them today.

Did a goose hunt in the am, then ran up to the river for an afternoon duck hunt. Didn't light the world on fire with either hunt.
I did however get my first lesser canada and the 1st pintail I've shot in probably 5 or 6 years.
Another great day in the treasure state. Early field hunt tomorrow, then off to the airport for a 2pm flight.

He’s often better at posing for pics at the end of the hunt than he is at retrieving the birds.

Oh I'm gonna do this. I have a ton of that old military netting at my parents house. Some how when my dad retired from the military we ended up with about a dozen of them. Gotta get a floating gun case too. Love my kayak and fish out of it all the time also use it to access places to hunt but have never duck hunted out of it.
