Well, since it's almost tax time, this one is appropriate LOL

Called Walmart today to see when my W-2 would be in and they gave me an 1-800 number to call. So I call, and after giving the lady all my info, she can't find me. She asked what my employee number was and I told her I had no clue. She asked who my supervisor was and I said I wasn't sure about that either. Then she asked what department I worked in and I informed her that I'm a self checkout cashier. The lady proceeded to say " Ma’am, really?" followed by a CLICK. Such unprofessionalism from the corporate office.
🙄
🤣

This annoys me too. I get my laughs when I walk out and my "coworker" asks to see my receipt, and I politely but bluntly just say "no" and keep walking to my truck. Yall want to treat me like I just stole something when I just had to do your job for you...

I don't get all the angst about self-check out. I don't go to Walmart often. Less than once a year if possible, but this year has been a bad one so far so I've been there at least 3 times, hit the self-check and got out of there asap. What's the problem?

I average about one trip a month. Wally World is the closest grocery store to my house besides a dollar general. I usually have an overfull shopping cart when I checkout.
No thank you on the self check out when I have that much to do. If they had the conveyor or at least a proper amount of counter space like they do at the regular checkout I would be more likely to use it.

Now if I go in and grab a few items that is a different story.I almost always use the self check at Dollar General because I usually just have a few items.

Would you be alright with changing your own oil at jiffy lube? How about cooking your own chicken nuggets at McDonald’s? I own a trucking outfit, and I don’t ask my customers to back my truck into the unloading bay. I provide a service, and that’s what I’m paid for. These stores provide a service to us as well but are asking us to do the work for taking our money. It’s an easy fix though. Shop somewhere else.

Self checkout is not the problem at our Wally World. The problem is on a Thursday at 5 pm there might be 2 or 3 of the 20 checkout lanes open. Even the self checkout lanes are closed because they can’t get help to man any of them.

I HATE self checkout, if I wanted a job at WallyWorld I'd apply for one.

My daughter and I ran to Wallyworld in Pagosa Springs Thanksgiving before last. Going thru self serve pay was a real 'move over Dad' moment.

Yeah, it cracks me up, too. Don't want to do self-checkout? Go stand in line. I simply look in my cart when I'm done shopping and assess which choice I prefer for that visit. Sort of like I sometimes change my own oil and sometimes let Jiffy Lube do it. Mostly it's something for people with nothing better to do to complain about on the Internet.

Fixed it Quinton, that part isn't an empty complaint.

The concept here is pervasive. Most organizations are doing some sort delegating to the customer. Phones, lines, online services, dr visits. Shoot, even porn is self serve now, right?

It’s the part where they say the customer receives a cost dividend that’s comedy.
