This could be dangerous but looking for firsthand advice on some units. With Utah doubling the price for NR tags I think I want to cash in sooner than later. I have 21 points and looking for advice. I understand that Utah units now are not like Utah units of old but I'm not real excited to spend $2,000 on a 330 bull considering I've already invested close to a grand to applying over the years. I'm not opposed to archery just not near as confident as with my guns. So below are the units I feel I'd have a decent choice at drawing this year. Feel free to post any other units I may have missed. I'm not opposed to waiting a year or two if I'm close on some other units that might be better. Do any of these get you excited about finding a solid mid 300's bull? Shoot me a message

I’m not much help but I would expect many people will be looking to cash in points like you. I’d expect 21 points to get you a hunt that used to take 16ish.

Zim posted his points and where he planned to apply every year, it worked really well for the guys that had more points than he did and didn't know where to go.

I have half your points and am only slightly concerned about guys dropping down to get out. At your level It wouldn't be much of a concern; a $2000 elk tag isn't very expensive in the grand scheme. And guys with 20+ have 20 because they're focused on decades old memories of a unit.

Look at what you can draw, cross off the ones that take several points less, and you'll have the short list. Whittle those few down to a cpl and choose. If fishing is in your future, hit me up.

Thanks for the advice. The nice thing about the message feature is nobody has to know. Have had a few reach out that way and appreciate it.

Wasatch gets a ton of non-hunting recreational use. It encompasses ski resorts, and numerous popular hiking/biking/atv trails. Proximity to SLC adds to the congestion. Absolutely stunning country that I spend a lot of time in, but it wouldn’t be high on my list of places to burn 20+ points.
