Going moose hunting and would like to have a fishing setup, weight is the primary issue. I need to keep it under 2 lbs for the whole setup. Is there something out there that's worth purchasing or are the smaller set ups more of a pain?

This would be mostly lakes/streams in the togiak area in September.

Thanks.

Consider a tenkara fly rod. I have a nine-foot rod -- with line, a pad of flies and a leader. The entire outfit weighs 5 ounces. I have caught pounds and pounds of trout with it, particularly on small streams and cool mountain lakes where fish are near the shore. The main limitation is lack of casting reach -- you can only cover about 25 feet of water. But that is often plenty.

How small does it break down? I've been toying with the idea of one for small mountain creeks.
