Im pretty close to this. My primary deer rifle is a 700 xcr2 270win in a McMillan Classic Edge with a Timney trigger , VX3 3.5-10x40. Same setup in a M700 in 7m08 would suit me just fine and is on the list if I dont decide to go more light weight.Remington 700 in 7mm-08, timney trigger, Mcmillan stock, 22"barrel. Swarovski Z5(i) 3.5x18x44. 140gr Accubonds.
I have to agree 100%. Mine has done things that I've "NEVER" seen other rifles do. It is unbelievable fast and flat. The shock it delivers is just incredible.257 WBY. Point and shoot out to 400 yards. Bang, flop. Death Ray.
I have a rifle that shoots like that too. With a 200 grain bullet. mtmuley257 WBY. Point and shoot out to 400 yards. Bang, flop. Death Ray.

As obvious as a Tramp Stamp on a 40-year-old!!Yeah, it shows?
That would totally depend on what type of experience I was hunting for beyond simply filling my tags.As I'm not so patiently waiting for the AZ elk and antelope draw results, my mind wanders towards guns, specifically mule deer guns, what would be your ultimate rifle, scope, and caliber combinations for the following mule deer habitats:
Rolling Sage Brush (Nevada, southern Idaho, Wyoming)
Canyon Country / Desert (Southern Utah, Southwestern Colorado)
Alpine (Colorado Western Slope)
I would say for deer in the million range for the .30/30. I don't think the .30/06 can even come close to the .30/30 at least for deer and maybe bear.I bet the number is high. Although the 30-06 might beat it.
