You can't run for POTUS if during your term you will be 80, you can't be POTUS if you would turn 80 during your tenure.

If someone would be 80 during their tenure is in the line of succession it skips them.

Anyone got an issue with that law?

Make it 72 and I am all in. And 75 for every other govt position in the country.

Years of total elected service maybe ( but I have some concerns there too), but the current system of just running for different offices solves nothing.

It's a start.

Not sure it is. Is our govt and politics better than it was 25 years ago? I would say no. Of course lots of other stuff contribute to that, but loss of long term statesman seems to be a net negative at this point. And no real evidence there is meaningful Congress turn over driven by this.
