Ukraine Ammunition

Seems like weapons are stacking up on the polish border where Ukrainian convoys can’t handle it all.

Canada pulled its troops out of Ukraine a couple weeks before the war started to prevent a NATO escalation. We've been training them since 2015 with other Nations and it shows!!!

Those same troops were moved to Poland where they're helping the Poles escort the convoys going to Ukraine! 🤘

I hope the influx of convoys in Ukraine is steady but not too high to avoid overwhelming them and resulting in losses of ammo, equipment, etc.

The US Army had close to 500 Soldiers there before this kicked off too, but had to be pulled out. Some came out only days before the invasion.

I have worked with both the Polish and Ukrainian armies while deployed and in training. They are good troops, but 7.62x39 is not what they need. They need Javelins, Stingers, NLAWs, Baraktors; the things their defense industrial base can't provide them. They need the means to augment their ground maneuver with air support. The problem now is that Russia has a pressure point they can hit (Ukrainian cities/citizens), and the stomach to do it. That is a very difficult move to counter.....

While they absolutely need a way to counter aircraft and tanks, sticking a few AK’s and a few hundred rounds of AP ammo in each household probably wouldn’t hurt morale or anything else.

They're getting the weapons and ammunition they need, I fear they're going to reach a point where they don't have enough operators. Stingers, NLAWs and Javelins aren't just weapons you can pick up and fire without training.

Lots of defensive weapons are being sent too but aren't making the news because Stingers and Javelins sound sexier than 84mm, M72s and frag grenades. All weapons that can be taught to use in minutes to a couple hours.

Same with all the foxed winged assets they're getting; neat, but you need pilots and maintainers to keep the ACs air worthy...

So tonight, I’m putting my 2.5 year old to bed, and he decides that he wants to say the prayer tonight. I say “ok, can you pray for Ukraine tonight?” And he says “and my goose”. My wife starts chuckling and trying to hold it back. I thought to myself “that is kinda funny that he wants to pray for his goose when he doesn’t even have a goose” and then my son proceeds to say “dear God, thank you for my crane and my goose. In Jesus’s name Aaaaaaamen”. At that point my wife and I both lost it.

That boy has eaten more crane and goose meat than the average 2.5 year old.

Praying for Ukraine and the rest of the world.

I've spent a lot of time in Poland and worked with their military. They absolutely HATE Russia and have a massive armed forces, Poland will be fine.

My best friend's family is Polish, they came to the US in 1980 to get away from the communists. Their family was nobility going back for many generations, preceding modern Poland, and lost everything during WWII and the Cold War. He and I were discussing all this Ukraine business yesterday, sounds like there is no love lost for Russia at any level of the Polish population.

I've spent lots of time there and would always end up asking the same question to the Polish soldiers I became close with; who do you hate the most, Germans or Russians? The answer always was very emotional and always; Russia!

The US views history in decades and centuries; the rest of the world in centuries and millennia....
