Trapping Thread 2024/2025

Ordered some new scents for trapping and ordered a musk with some skunk essence. It was sealed in a bag, in a bag, then in the box. I feel so bad for the mail man. He set the box outside my house and I didn’t notice it. But, I kept getting wiffs of something in my garage. I found it last night.

That essence is so strong I’m sure my mailman has me on his hit list. To think of that in a car for several hours makes me cringe. It was so bad that even the box couldn’t be tolerated hours after it had been emptied. Lol

The boy went out and wanted to get some nest predators thinned down. Made his own sets and did all the work himself. Picked up a couple nice boars. I helped him with the skinning and now he wants to build a skinning machine. Hoping he has some tight chains in the morning on his check. I have to work so I’ll be waiting on some pics.

Planning to set coyote snares Sunday. Then run that line and do some coyote calling. Made up some 22-250 shells tonight so I’m ready!
I’d like to get some more snares out but the weather can’t make its mind up. 55 degrees tomorrow

Yes I have been holding off due to the warm weather. Not as warm as you but around 30. Never had issues with coyotes slipping but the birds are hard on bait when it’s that warm. Supposed to cool down starting Sunday here

The boy put on 2 predator sets. I’ve never trapped a predator before. He tried his hand at a hay set he watches Coon Creek Outdoors on YouTube a lot. I don’t know if they will connect or not but I hope they do.
