We do in the area but have never seen one in this pond they tend to stick to the river or feeder creeks. There tracks tend to be larger and the webbing and claws are very noticeable.Otter is my guess, gt any of them around?
That's why I thought mink or weasel the behavior fits those and coon not so much a cat.I guess when he said swimming and digging it has me leaning away from cat, but that’s working off of mental pictures that might not reflect reality I guess! Plus fur bearers and small animals are admittedly not in my wheelhouse. Always hard to put together all the clues without seeing it first hand. If you figure it out, I’d be curious to see what you find!
I agree, that first track was a coon I’m pretty sure and the other one I think is otter. Those are different tracks.
That new track (the one at the top of the picture), looks like a cat, to me. Hard to get a sense for scale, but it looks smallish. Hopefully a bobcat and not someone's fluffy...Only thing on cam was coon. One finally screwed up and stepped in a beaver trap while robbing my castor mound.View attachment 172513
Here is a track I found on the shoreline next to the island today. View attachment 172514
