You pretty much just summed up everything stressing me out for this app season. Can’t wait till mid to end of May so I know what the hell im doing this fall.

So I committed to just accompanying my father this year, no tag for me. I also committed to some financial discipline.
I didn't apply for Utah points this year. In my point bracket, it is not going to be much of a difference at all when I apply in a year or two.

I'm also considering whether the $222 for a license and points in Nevada will be better spent to chip away at some debt. Now I could say a chukar hunt or weekend fishing trip will utilize the $150 license, and I keep my place in line. it's less than $20 bucks a month..

Just make sure to recruit more hunters so all these problems go away and drawing a tag can become even more difficult.

Most of us do!

I continue to bite the bullet in several states, as long as I am getting points and I believe I actually may draw in the long haul. I bailed on NV, its a state I guess I will never hunt. Same with ND. I don’t apply to OR or WA or CA ever, or MT or ID most years. If I ever draw AZ elk, I’ll probably subsequently quit applying there. You definitely have to pick and choose these days.
