Tornado in Kansas tonight

Tomorrow promises to be a day to be on heightened alert in south central Kansas and then points eastward. The weather folks are not saying there might be bad storms, it is just a matter of where they are going to occur. In Andover hundreds of folks were still without electricity today, as clean up crews were busy all along the pathway of the destruction.

The primary school that was damaged will not reopen in time for the children to complete their school year there. They are off school for a week, and then will most likely be moved out to other primary schools to finish up their last several weeks of school.

Straight line winds and torrential rains all across central Kansas last night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a big “box” of warnings (Nebraska line to the Oklahoma line) of thunderstorm warnings. Power outages and tree debris on this one, and because it was fully dark, there won’t be the plethora of video like last years tornado.
