Spent Saturday hunting with my kid.

I have somehow royally hurt my shoulder so shooting a shotgun for the day was out of the question. I let him shoot and told him that since we had plenty of time that it would only be drakes.

First bird of the day he made a nice left to right crossing shot (he is left handed)

After that it took alot of ammo and alot of decoying ducks but he finally finished an all green limit. First time ever he was the only shooter and he didn't shoot hens. A nice bright day helped and me telling to go ahead or not.

A good day. Should be hunting geese but not with my current shoulder issue.

Seeing the doc tomorrow.

Wingman,

I need to heal up quick because we have geese and they are in need of some thinning out. I might have to have you come over for a week to help if my current problem does not get figured out.

Sounds like a long day but well worth it. Congrats. Nothin better than teaching and watching your kids

I would love to. How about Thursday through Monday coming up. I miss that country. I'm sitting in cut bank for work right now and the snow and blow is crazy. Reminds me of December of 09 in Glasgow goose hunting.

Very cool Nemont. Easy to get excited about big old northern flight "orange legs." When this big game season is over, I intend to extract some revenge on those birds.

Have found a guy in the valley who makes the best pepper sticks and summer sausage from waterfowl. Every person who has tried it gives the old "Mmmmm, that is great stuff," then asks, "What is this?" or "Who made this for you?"

Camera guys will eat all of it when you are not looking. Damn them.

Can you come tomorrow? My buddy is out spotting and found a field with about 500 snows in it. Got a cortizone shot in my shoulder so I am out until Friday but the PT told me that I will be good as new by Friday.

PM and let's talk.

Nemont....could this be the year of shooting with non-dominant shoulder??? You might have to close your dominant eye and lose a little depth perception. But maybe the stock holding arm/shoulder wouldn't allow even that??
