Awesome! I love spring lakers, especially bubbling in tinfoil over a campfire. I had no idea you could find lake trout in TN! We always go to Canada for them.
Yea this is about as far south as you can find them. We have them in South Holston and Watauga lakes here in TN. They stay really deep in the colder water. We caught these at 50 ft yesterday but by August we catch them down to 110 ft.
Awesome man I gotta get out there and after them on holston. I live on top of it by creeper bridge tore up crappie this spring. 90 one day nice size also. Those lakers good eating?
They're real oily. I soak meat in water and drain out 3 or 4 times. We make poor man's lobster out of them and it's great. You can google it for recipe. They're also good smoked. As far a frying or on the grill they're not the best table fair.
