Tire chain question

As you turn the cam, you can feel it almost lock into place as it reaches the end of it's travel. I can assure you I've tested the crap out of these style chains, and have never had a cam come loose. mtmuley

Could you post a mfg.? I did some looking and Glacier Chains look like they might fit the bill.

ZBarebow. I don't know the manufacturer. I purchased mine at a local Montana tire store called Les Schwab. Maybe Muleyfanatic can help. mtmuley

I have a 2012 f150. Can't put chains front or back. I picked up some Super Z LT cables. Haven't had to use them yet but it's the only option i could find. I won't buy another truck that I can't chain up. Next truck will probably be the new Nissan Titan Diesel with the 5.0 Cummins.

I have an F-150 2007. What stops you from putting chains in the rear tires??? Is it written in the manual or some physical obstruction??

Thanks.

First set were through Orielly and they had 0 return policy but after talking with the chain rep their manager agreed to take them back. I then bought through tirechainsrequired.com whom was the cheapest I found for this specific chain even though they didn't offer free shipping like others they were still over a $100 cheaper.
Manufacturer is Laclede chain company.

I have a 2013 F-150 and I run V bar chains in the front and the back. I use chains about 4 days a week throughout the winter and I haven't had any problems.

The manual said no so I brought it to the tire shop and they said no. Up to that point they didn't know about it. There just isnt any clearance between the tire and the suspension. Not sure if the 2013 is any different than the 2012.

I'm glad I have an old truck and can get where I want to go. Chains or not. mtmuley

I had the same experience with the manual and the tire shop. But with my work i don't have a choice, i need to use chains. So i threw them on and made sure they were really tight and they clear the break line and the front A arm just fine. Its worked 1 winter already, ill let ya know about winter #2.

I agree. I have the same style and the cams 'lock' securely. I use the tensioner too and have had no trouble.
