ElkGunner, if and when I feel I have been wronged I shall take appropriate action which shall surely punish the perp without bothering Buzz.

Hey Del
"The idea of wilderness needs no defense. It only needs more defenders. ---Edward Abbey"

I think maybe Abbey was Taliban; would that make ElkGunner a Militant Cleric?

Hey Del,

A "fine piece of work" you have chosen there...

I thought you said the "name calling" has to go...

Looks like one of your Moderators is struggling with understanding his role...

Very good find Phil....

I see feelings are being hurt because the Freedom of speech really does have it's limitations to keep this a civil society...

Chaser I like to have fun as much if not more than most others; but, there is simply no sensible basis for humorless disrespect, name calling, or flat out prevarication. I may be off base. Mean spirited smart mouthing just for the sake of running one's gums might be humorous to some. But, I'm not going to tolerate it being done to me or anyone else. So ladies and gentlemen if you make fun of, poke fun at, engage in name calling, smart mouthing, or cracking wise; it had better be in fun and humorous.

Del,
I would like to point out a glaring issue of having Paws being a moderator. He is the first one to demand respect at the same time saying he is going to come and kick my, as well as other's asses, I have not called him a name or feel I have been disrespectful. Now I will be censored by Paws when I respond to his calling people out? What purose will this board serve?

I guess you might as well cancel my membership on this board if Paws is the moderator because he cannot be impartial IMO.

So Long guys.

Well, it is best to just wait and see how fair he will be, the same argument of sorts could be made about Buzz.
It has been going both way's and this looked pretty darned fair to put a mod from each side to make sure it stay's fair to both sides...

If this is all it takes to make you pick up your ball and go home, I am very sorry, I like to see some of your posts and insites, and it would be a loss to see you go.
Lets just stick around and see what transpires out of this. Maybe it will get worse, but maybe, just maybe, it will get better...

Elkchsr said, "the same argument of sorts could be made about Buzz."

Wrong...

I'm more into letting people sort out their own problems. If people want to fist fight over a freaking post...go for it. If people want to sue over something someone says...knock yourself out. It isnt worth my time, but to some it is.

Censorship is BS, and people that censor things are searching for a security blanket and respect they'll never find or get.

Some times it works, some times it doesn't...
I would immagine there is huge volumes of censorship that go on even in your own line of work.
Even if it is self imposed censorship, one doesn't get any where in the Government or buisness when they speak exactly the words that come to mind when confronted with an issue...

Am I wrong?
There is a certain amount of restraint and respect that must be portrayed in your actions and words, is it to much to ask that here?
We don't have to be stuffy, or a wall living inside of the box as the rules go when things come up, but one doesn't have to degrade or demean others for their thougts or opinions just because they don't jive with what you know or understand.

Mean spirited smart mouthing just for the sake of running one's gums might be humorous to some. But, I'm not going to tolerate it being done to me or anyone else. So ladies and gentlemen if you make fun of, poke fun at, engage in name calling, smart mouthing, or cracking wise; it had better be in fun and humorous
Explain to me how you will know what was meant to be mean spirited and what was meant to be humorous. Paws you are unable to have your opinions, ideas or posts questioned. You have said and posted more mean spirited things then almost anyone on the board.

There is simply no way, Paws, you can be impartial. Regardless of what you may feel or think it isn't going to happen. So what purpose would it serve for me to post something and just because it isn't to your liking it gets zapped. I enjoy having fun on this board and in my life as much as anybody. I also like to debate and listen to many sides of most issues. Paws makes that nearly impossible for me, on this board, because he will not listen to anyone who doesn't "respect" him.

I would ask everyone to go back and read the responses from Paws that he gives whenever you ask him a question about his position or to clarify a point. Even if you do in a "respectful" way he goes postal. Then tell me how partial he is going to be as a moderator.

So now he is the one being allowed to pick, choose and censor posts. It is not a case of me picking up my ball and going home. It is a case of letting the fox guard the hen house. He is already altering posts.

So Elkchsr what is the point of me posting on this board when the moderator gets to select what HE thinks is mean spirited and what HE thinks is humorous? It will take the fun out of it and hence becomes not worth the effort.

Sincerely and respectfully,

Nemont

Buzz very well said

the rest fo you guys.
Just because someone is an admin or a moderator doesnt mean you have to agree with them. I havent seen any admins or mods delete anything on this board just becuase they didnt agree with the person posting.
(with the exception of the varmit forum, but thats been taking care of ;) ).

They are simply mods to lock post , and delete the name calling bs. I think both are good for it , maybe I am wrong but I doubt it, so give it some time.

Delw

I was just stating, lets wait and see how much he actually censors people, if it gets out of line, it only takes a swipe of the key board by Del to fix it. We can be and say any thing we want, but it is our actions that prove out in the end...
Russ..

I agree with Nemont...

I've never, not once, on anything posted toward me thought it was mean-spirited.

Its impossible for anyone to know what someones post is meant to say. The problem is people imply and read too much into whats actually WRITTEN.

Thats the problem, its peoples insecurities that get them worked up.

Elkchsr, to answer your question, no I dont "censor" anything, including stuff at work, in my life, etc. etc. etc.

When I feel like making a point, I make it. Its tough being honest sometimes, but I've found its better than living a censored life thats really just a big fat lie. Censor yourself and you're lieing to everyone...including yourself.
