Thompson Center coming back

I love my stainless TC pro hunter 50 cal muzz. My favorite muzz. I never did get any other barrels for it however. I would not mind getting a short 16 inch 44 mag or 30/30 barrel for whitetails. But ya not sure on who is getting it going again…

I've got one of their Encore muzzle loaders.
Glorified copy of an H&R shotgun in my opinion and much more costly. The stock configuration with big drop and pistol grip is pretty goofy too.

When I bought it I liked the fact that it used a shotgun primer and is easy to clean, but the other brands of muzzle loaders have come a long way and surpassed the TC stuff now.
Won't likely buy another TC product.

What turned you away from your decision?
S&W's mishandling?
7-08 is a fabulous round!

I haven't determined a definitive no to the 7.08, but people were expressing dissatisfaction with the accuracy of those barrels in some of those threads you have revived in the past few days.
I don't want another rifle, but a barrel for my Encore makes the most sense. Especially if I could chop and suppress....🤔

I appreciate your expectation of accuracy and I have much more experience with my contenders than I probably ever will with the encore.
I find Encore triggers to be a good bit heavier than any of my contender frames.
Hand-loading for the specific cartridge has always been my first attempt at improving a new barrel's accuracy.
Keep a watch for a 7-08 barrel in the 'For Sale' sections and you might be surprised at how economical another caliber might be.
The Thunder Maker I posted is actually a 15" pistol barrel with muzzle brake permanently attached to comply with ATF regs for buttstock use.
