The Onion Prophecies
On the eve of Bush's inauguration, The Onion — a satirical paper — published a piece titled, "Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Over.'"

In the story, the Onion made light of a worst-case scenario for the Bush presidency, with Bush making promises like "selling off the national parks," "going into massive debt," "bring[ing] back economic stagnation," and "assuring citizens that the U.S. will engage in at least one Gulf War-level armed conflict in the next four years."

The Onion was just trying to be funny. Instead, it was prophetic.

A satirical newspaper tries to come up with the most extreme example of how a new president can pursue disastrous policies to help special-interest cronies, and every word of it comes true. Have you ever heard anything more frightening in your life?

Go read it, and shake your head at how accurate it was, 3.5 years ago of predicting the disaster that is Dubya's administration...

Wasnt it the clinton adminastration that sold teh grand canyon to the UN?

I thought I read somewhere that the grand canyon and a few other NP were owned by the UN

And one more tidbit of information.

Clinton and our az govenor at the time rose Mofford, was going to make Lake pleasant a National monument/park however due to the house's that could be built around this lake they traded that land for land about 30 miles north east and called it the agua fria national mounument, this land is not only ugly but almost impossible to build alot of house's on.

However the land around lake pleasant is now the host to about 250,000-50,000 new homes in the next 3-5 years. this land is extreamly easy to build on.

And your worried about bush's policies reguarding land.

"Have you ever heard anything more frightening in your life?"
