Good luck! Hopefully we don’t have to change the title to “Dave N’s WY Squirrel Hunt”Apps are in. Now we wait.
You got any? Never mind, I hate skinning tree rats.Good luck! Hopefully we don’t have to change the title to “Dave N’s WY Squirrel Hunt”
It was a staple at my house growing up in Appalachia. Gave it up after leaving home until @BrentD cooked some up at grouse camp a few years ago. He did it right! You got any? Never mind, I hate skinning tree rats.
Yo! Dave! Have you no friends from Missouri? I swear those people are born skinning squirrel, and they are worth the effort for sure. I have always suffered the skinning because nothing is better, but when a grad student skinned 5 before I had one gutted, I knew I had to shut up and watch. Recently, I found an improvement on the basic "Step on the Tail Technique", which makes it even easier. I cannot find the video that I learned from, but there are probably 100 squirrel skinning with a "squirrel hanger" videos on Youtube right now. Once you have this down, you will wonder how you managed all these years and never thought of it yourself. You got any? Never mind, I hate skinning tree rats.
Yeah, that's alright. I've eaten a few but they aren't very high on my list of kill 'em and eat 'em. It's actually been probably 20 years. My youngest daughter made her first kill on one in the backyard and we cleaned and cooked it together.Yo! Dave! Have you no friends from Missouri? Pretty darn good! I'll get one every now and then. I wanted to use my grandfather's Model 12 as kind of a way to connect. No telling how many he shot with it. Now I can hang it up with my other guns that I display. How was the rabbit?
