Here in Northern Michigan it's getting to be that time of the year. From watching all the bucks all summer long hanging in the AG Fields to finally making their transitions and moves to the smaller greener plots and hardwoods is something we all can appreciate and anticipate.
With each chilly night, and dew covered grassy morning we know, it's that time where the cams start to see unfamiliar bodies, faces and racks that we've been waiting months and months to finally show up.
No Target Bucks yet, but here are a few future prospects that have been roaming.

I don’t use cameras, but I appreciate the seasonal shift. It’s a little later down here in TN. I hunt funnels on public land and never know what’s gonna show up from late October through November

I can definitely appreciate that.
I didn't start using cameras until about 5 years ago.

I've hunted Public Land 95% of my life here in Michigan, then decided to try my luck at leasing property the last several years and that's when I started using cameras so I could focus more on herd management.
As of this early summer I decided to let the lease go and I purchased my own 80 Acre Parcel and now more than ever practicing QDM with hopes of the neighbors following along. Our Doe to Buck Ratio is out of control as I've been finding and learning we're around 9-12 Does per buck, with the majority of the bucks still being in that lower 1.5 year old - 3.5 year old range.
My main and only reason pretty much for even using cameras is to try to keep the Doe population in check since we eat a lot of venison every year, we harvest the does for our meat and I don't personally shoot any bucks at all myself unless they are going to be wall worthy.
