Dave,

Any Suggestions for what I can do to help my 12 year old daughter develop her wildlife art skills? She has a real interest in wildlife and I want to encourage it as much as I can.

I saw your color one just as you were finishing up and somebody from one of the boards was giving you some input on bill, eyes or head weren't they? At any rate, first class stuff.

I am just going to have to hold out for retirement until I can get back into some of my OTHER hobbies. I have a B/W darkroom all in boxes from since the girls were in school because we really needed two bathrooms. Water and acrylics stored away, but guessing they are toast by now. Only things going is I have collected some nice brushes along the way.

Big I entered the swans in the Md duck stamp contest , but they forgot to inform me that they are looking for work that is done with air brush. Top 5 pic's were 60-80% air brush work. I have played with air brush and did very well , but for paintings I like the traditional old way.... Brush strokes.

2rocky, she looks to be on her way. Copying works to get a feel for the subject. Then start putting antlers or heads in from of her. Mounts of different animals will help also. Have her draw features at 1st. Little studies of the eyes, ears, jaw, mouth and nose. She will pic it up. My boys did the same thing and became better then me at a very early age. I did not start drawing much till college.
