This unit is not known to produce long horned goats. In the past ten years there have only been three goats that were 10” and one of those was a nanny.
Going in to this hunt, my priorities were
1. Age.
2. Body size
3. Horn length
Walking up the hill to my goat, I was immediately second guessing my choice to shoot and hoping I hadn’t made a mistake by shooting too hastily. When I finally laid hands on him all those doubts disappeared.
He is at least 8 1/2 years old and looked like a miniature bison in body size.
He’s everything I hoped for on this hunt.
